A Bit of History... Constructed in 1875, and built as The Sperry Flour Mill warehouse, the two-story warehouse is the oldest intact building on the banks of the Stockton Channel. The simple architectural style of the building suits its function as a warehouse and is a good representative example of industrial vernacular architecture of the turn of the century. Sperry was the largest flour mill ever built in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley . This mill was directly accessible from the second floor of the warehouse via a walkway. Its existence is evidenced by an opening covered by a fire door that can still be seen in the east wall. The ground floor was originally used to store grain. Sperry was one of the largest employers in Stockton for decades until the mills closed in 1926 and operations were transferred to Vallejo. This building is a City of Stockton Historic Landmark. Waterfront Warehouse
This is a beautiful historic waterfront property! The building offers a variety of tenant mix from professional office to retail including four eateries and outside waterfront dining. Home to the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, this renovated warehouse has a relaxed atmosphere with exposed wood beams and a picturesque amphitheatre with landscaped grounds. Parking is available in the gated lot at the East end of the building and additional on-street parking around the building. The Waterfront Warehouse is on the Downtown Trolley route for easy access into the downtown core. Plans are underway for a new marina that will allow boating access in 2009. Great views of the Ports Baseball Stadium, Stockton Events Center and the new Sheraton Hotel on the North Shore of the Delta.
