A Bit of History...
Constructed in 1910, this building was originally used by the Sunset Door and Sash Company. The Stockton Evening Mail of December 24, 1904 stated that "The factory contains all the latest and most modern machinery for the manufacture of doors and windows of the better grades and trades with any amount of this high class product." The vernacular style structure is the oldest massive brick industrial complex still standing in Stockton . Remodeled in 1916, it became Sears Roebuck Company only mail order distribution center in California until 1927. Sears' extensive stock ranged from baby carriages to windmills to feeding molasses. This historic brick building built in the early 1900's has been completely renovated by owner, Dan Cort . Named Railroad Square the artist's rendering of a Southern Pacific railroad and train gracing the name of the building and the address number is larger than life. This three story building is currently fully leased by the County of San Joaquin CalWorks Program . Two gated parking lots serve the building well for convenient parking. Convenient location between Downtown Stockton and University Park .
