A Bit of History... Constructed in 1890, this historic building jointly functioned as two hardware stores, Austin Brothers and Hickenbotham Brothers Hardware & Steel. Later in the 1950's after renovation, it became J.C. Penney's Department Store. Later in the 1980's, American Savings Bank purchased the building and completely renovated it for office and bank use..

Dan Cort purchased 540 E. Main Street in 2007. The building is currently undergoing a major renovation for Superior Court Family Law. Renovation will be complete in July 2008 . This new acquisiton created two bookends of major renovated buildings on the north side of the 500 block of Main Street within walking distance to banks, and downtown eateries. Parking onsite and convenient location within the Central Parking District. Easy cross town freeway access. The building is close in proximity to the Northshore Waterfront Baseball Stadium, Events Center and new Sheraton Hotel. This entire block will be undergoing renovation demonstrating downtown revitalization is moving East.
